We provide private consultations with a UK-trained GP. You will have continuity of care with your GP who has a personal understanding of your health. Flexible and same day appointments are offered for your convenience.
We expertly manage the whole scope of general practice. This includes paediatrics, men's health, women’s health, mental health, and medical weight management—alongside the many everyday health concerns that make up true primary care medicine.
We have quick access to a wide range of diagnostic tests such as bloods, cardiac investigations, and imaging (x-ray/ultrasound/CT/MRI).

Dr Lorraine Lam MRCGP

Dr Lam has a unique mix of experience across primary care, secondary care, and maritime medicine. She is an experienced NHS GP who still works at surgeries throughout Devon and Cornwall. Following work at HMS Drake, she had a successful career as Senior Doctor with Carnival UK Cruises. She is competent and comfortable in all clinical settings from general practice to emergency care.
She earned her medical degree from the University of Edinburgh in 2014 after obtaining a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Medical Sciences from the University of St Andrews. She completed her GP training in Plymouth, Devon.
At Plymouth Private Practice, Dr Lam provides longer consultations which allow for better patient-centred care. With roots in Canada and Hong Kong, combined with medical training in the UK, she offers an international perspective in her practice. She also proudly offers consultations in Cantonese, bridging language barriers for better care.
